Responsibilities
- Deliver merchandise to customers in a timely and efficient manner
- Drive Company vehicles defensively while following all laws
- Be service-minded and provide exceptional customer service
- Assist in loading and unloading merchandise on vehicles
- Ensure load is securely fastened and transported safely
- Check orders for accuracy and damage; check pack slips for special instructions
- Obtain proof of delivery. Maintain accurate records of deliveries and any issues encountered
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles in accordance with Company policy
- Adhere to Company policy if involved in a motor vehicle accident in a Company vehicle
- Report operating problems or maintenance needs on vehicles
- Inform supervisor of shortages, overloads or damaged merchandise or customer complaints
- Maintain vehicle in neat and clean condition; remove empty skids, pallet jacks, carts, and debris from the truck. Refuel vehicle as directed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required
- Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record required
- CDL preferred
- Valid medical card, or ability to get a medical card and be at least 21 years of age
- Functional capacities evaluation which demonstrates ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position
- Two years of truck driving experience preferred
- The ability to pass all required drug & alcohol testing
- Functional capacities evaluation which demonstrates ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75lbs
- Computer knowledge and skills and the ability to learn First Supply Group’s business system
- Ability to use radio frequency devices (RF) or other similar type units
