Position:Compliance Inspector
Reports to: Compliance Manager
Location: Banning, CA
Summary:
Supports the Planning & Compliance Manager in supervising and overseeing security monitoring, reviewing reports and complaints of violations against the governing documents, use and oversight of the gate entry system, assisting homeowners and residents with understanding the governing documents, interfacing with the Safety & Security Advisory Committee with hearings and results of committee meetings, and enforcing of the Association's CC&Rs, Bylaws, and Rules and Regulations. Reports directly to the Planning & Compliance Manager with some contact with HOA committee members, homeowners, supervisory staff, vendors, independent contractors, and city officials.

- Performs inspections and manages code enforcement and architectural compliance matters in accordance with the association's governing documents.
- Assists the Safety & Security Advisory Committee in responding to requests for review of relevant violations by homeowners and preparation of homeowner hearing items.
- Oversees practices and takes appropriate action to enforce the Association's CC&R's, rules and regulations and design guidelines.
- Uses Association vehicle to perform property inspections and/or pick up materials as needed.
- Participates in Safety & Security Advisory Committee activities as needed, including attending meetings, walkthroughs, and preparing hearing notices and responses.
- Consults with homeowners in person or by telephone to provide guidance on general HOA compliance, programs, and activities.
- Able to interpret and provide information to all applicable parties on the Homeowner Association CC&Rs, bylaws, and rules and regulations as they pertain to the homeowner's address.

Non-Essential Duties

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- High School Graduate level skills in math, writing, and communications. Fluency with office procedures, business communications via speech, letters, and email.
- Able to prepare, analyze, and operate within approved budget limits and follow established maintenance industry standards and requirements.
- Knowledge and ability to perform property inspections utilizing accepted and safe practices.
- Able to use a camera, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and an internet browser such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
- Must be able to type 60 wpm and take notes for conversion to typed documentation.
- Ability to be trained on general office equipment and software programs as applicable to the position.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ensures thorough follow-up and meet deadlines.
- Communicates effectively with others in English both verbally and in writing.
- Prepare reports and make formal presentations to HOA Committees and Management.
- Performs all functions listed above to an acceptable level without constant direct supervision and be self-motivated to seek additional work.
Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Language Skills
:
The position requires proficiency with US English. The individual must have strong written communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with employees and clients at all levels of the organization, both orally and in writing.

Physical Job Description:
The job requires the ability to work at a desk using a computer, phones, and the use of phone messaging. The job requires driving in a vehicle to inspect the properties in the community and to exit the vehicle to perform onsite inspections using a handheld camera and/or notepad as needed. The job requires in-person meetings in the office and in-person meetings on property sites. The job requires the ability to lift up to 40 pounds, and to stand and/or walk for up to one hour.
