Remote Healthcare Collection Specialist

Monday – Friday 8:00AM -8:00PM EST.-CT (8 hours per day)

Biweekly pay rate $1120 - $1200

GENERAL SUMMARY:


The Self-Pay Representative handles all inbound calls to the call center as well as outbound calls through the Predictive Dialer. The Self-Pay Rep will analyze delinquent accounts and establish payment options according to the FDCPA guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Review open accounts for payment methods, establishing options for debtors.
  • Properly document all calls and establish follow-up plan.
  • Understand and follow FDCPA collection laws.
  • Handle all aspects of the business including but not limited to working balances after the insurance has paid, identifying new insurance information, screening for charity, scheduling payment arrangements, etc.
  • Process the patient mail.
  • Research disconnected phone numbers and incorrect contact information.
  • Verify benefit information when necessary.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Maintain accurate and up to date information in the account notes.
  • Meet specified goals and objectives as assigned by management on a regular basis.
  • Maintain confidentiality of account information at all times.
  • Adhere to the prescribed policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and the Employee Code of Conduct.
  • Maintain awareness of and actively participate in the Corporate Compliance Program.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly workstation.
  • Assist with other projects as assigned by management.

Educational/Vocational/Previous Experience Recommendations:


  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Healthcare collections experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work and communicate with coworkers and outside agencies.
  • General PC knowledge.
  • Must be able to maneuver between several different software systems.
  • Ability to present oneself in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
  • Ability to stay on task with little or no supervision.
  • Demonstrate initiative and creativity in fulfilling job responsibilities.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a busy work environment.
  • Reliability of task completion and follow-up.

Working Conditions:


  • Call Center environment.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
