Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
- Maintain accurate medical records for patients, including documenting vital signs and treatment plans.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Ensure compliance with aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients.
- Manage dental equipment and instruments, including sterilization processes.
- Utilize dental software such as Dentrix for managing patient information and billing processes.
- Support various dental specialties including general dentistry, endodontics, and other procedures as required.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in dental terminology and medical coding is preferred.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Experience in taking vital signs and understanding basic medical records management.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques to maintain infection control standards.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is advantageous but not mandatory.
