Financial Controller

Fit Recruiting is in search for a skilled Financial Controller for a well-established organization in the transportation/logistics industry. This role will partner closely with executive leadership and oversee all financial operations, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and team leadership. Responsibilities:

• Lead daily accounting operations (AP, AR, GL, payroll)
• Prepare accurate financial statements in compliance with GAAP
• Own budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Strengthen internal controls and ensure regulatory compliance
• Monitor cash flow and overall financial performance
• Collaborate with operations to improve cost efficiency
• Oversee audits, tax planning, and external partners
• Mentor and lead the accounting team

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred)
• 6–8 years of progressive accounting/finance experience
• Strong GAAP and financial reporting expertise
• Prior leadership or team management experience
• Background in transportation, logistics, rail, or similar industries preferred
• Proven leader who collaborates effectively, contributes as a team player, and presents with professionalism and polish
• Technically proficient
