As an Associate, you will participate in all aspects of litigating class action cases, from conception through judgment. Position Duties and Responsibilities
· Research and develop class action cases and draft complaints
· Research, draft, proofread, cite check, and argue legal motions and appeals
· Engage in written discovery, take and defend depositions, and develop evidence in cases
· Develop and interact with clients and other class members
· Work with consulting and testifying experts and percipient fact witnesses
· Participate in pre-trial preparations and trial
Requirements
· J.D. from an accredited university
· Licensed to practice in California
· 2-5 years’ experience with civil litigation, with a substantial portion in federal court
· Ability to work in-person (may occasionally WFH, but this is NOT A REMOTE POSITION)
Preferences
· Previous experience litigating class action lawsuits
· Excellent writing skills
· A passion for social justice
· Experience/interest in emerging technologies including social media, crypto, and AI
Compensation and Benefits
· Annual salary of $90,000 to $110,000, depending on experience
· Guaranteed case development bonuses
· Discretionary periodic and year-end bonuses
· Payment of professional fees (e.g., bar dues) and continuing legal education (CLE)
· Health and dental; employer pays 50% of employee plans and 25% for dependents & spouses
· 401(k) with employer contribution
· Eligible to participate in additional Profit Sharing and Defined Benefit retirement plans
· Between 10 and 20 days (i.e., two and four weeks) paid vacation based on tenure
· Certain benefits subject to probationary period
