Senior Accountant

Fitzpatrick, Leary & Szarko, LLC is a growing accounting and consulting firm based in Lutherville, Maryland. We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our tax team in a hybrid role. This position is available due to the continued growth of our firm.

Responsibilities

• Prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals, businesses, and nonprofits
• Prepare personal property returns
• Conduct tax and accounting research
• Develop and maintain accurate, well-organized workpapers
• Assist clients with closing books, reconciling accounts, and posting journal entries
• Prepare financial statements for clients
• Maintain professional knowledge through continuing education and professional activities
• Handle confidential client matters with integrity and discretion

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
• CPA license or active CPA candidate strongly preferred
• 2–7 years of public accounting experience
• Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills
• Willingness to travel locally and commute to our Lutherville office as needed
• Strong communication and client-service orientation
