Position Overview
The Medical Assistant assists Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, and other medical staff by performing administrative and clinical duties under the direction of a physician. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, and answering phone calls.
Primary Responsibilities
- Open and prepare rooms for clinic.
- Rooming patients, take vitals, record and confirm medical history
- Assistant providers during exams and minor procedures, including wound care and surgery follow-up visits
- Answer incoming back-office calls, check voicemails daily as assigned and return calls in a timely manner
- Schedule and reschedule appointments as needed
- Clean exam rooms, sterilize instruments, set up trays for procedures
- Work documents, telephone encounters, and labs need to be assigned to appropriate provider
- Complete a 30-day training schedule with Lead/Senior Medical Assistant
- Chart Prep – Confirm all records are in chart for new patient consults and follow up on labs/imaging/pathology
- Additional tasks may be added as needed and assigned by management
Salary : $20 - $23
