As a Full-Time Accountant/Client Manager, you will play a vital role in delivering outstanding client accounting services and meticulously maintaining client records. You will primarily utilize QuickBooks Online, along with various payroll software packages and Excel, to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Our small office environment fosters a casual yet professional atmosphere, and we pride ourselves on offering flexible working hours that meet your needs.
· This full-time position consists of a 40-hour workweek based in our Scarborough, Maine office. During the summer months, we provide enhanced flexibility, allowing for a four-day work week from Memorial Day to Labor Day—perfect for those seeking a better work-life balance.

Responsibilities:
· Ensure the accuracy of client records by proficiently utilizing accounting software such as QuickBooks Online and Excel.
· Foster strong relationships through regular and proactive communication with staff, vendors, and clients.
· Conduct thorough monthly balance sheet reconciliations, diligently tracking and following up on both accounts receivable and accounts payable to enhance financial accuracy.
· Execute precise monthly bank and credit card reconciliations to maintain financial integrity.
· Manage payroll processing functions along with associated liability reporting to ensure timely and compliant payroll operations.
· Prepare Form 1099s and W-2s, along with sales and payroll tax filings, with attention to detail and compliance requirements.
· Generate insightful monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for stakeholders, providing clarity for informed decision-making.
· Organize and manage client records meticulously to ensure easy access and accuracy.
· Efficiently handle incoming and outgoing calls to facilitate smooth communication and client satisfaction.
· Collaborate with clients on diverse projects, including navigating external audits, ensuring grant compliance, and streamlining general operations for greater efficiency.
Position Requirements:
· A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (associate's or bachelor's), or at least 5 years of hands-on experience in an accounting role. We encourage current CPAs and CPA candidates to apply.
· Demonstrated mastery of QuickBooks and other accounting software is essential.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, with exceptional Excel skills that will set you apart.
· You should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and possess outstanding client service and communication skills, always maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
· We seek a self-motivated critical thinker who thrives both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating efficiency in all tasks.
· A strong comfort level with technology and various software systems is a must.
· You must be able to read and interpret financial statements accurately.
· Experience with tax returns is advantageous, especially if you have a background in tax preparation.
· Prior experience in the non-profit sector will be highly valued and beneficial to your application.
