Responsibilities
- Prepare and present sushi dishes according to traditional methods and recipes.
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and sushi preparation area.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Assist in menu planning, including the development of new sushi offerings.
- Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs to management.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and taste.
Skills
- Proven experience in the culinary field with a focus on sushi preparation.
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of various fish types and seafood handling.
- Experience in fine dining establishments is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations within the food industry.
- Excellent cooking skills with an emphasis on meal preparation techniques.
- Previous experience in catering or food service is advantageous.
