Quality Control Technician
Wage Range: $24.45/hour

Shift: Mon-Fri, Full-Time 40-hour

Position Overview:
In this role at Flavor Insights, the Quality Technician will be responsible for performing daily quality control and assurance activities including ATP Swabbing, environmental sampling, approval of raw and finished good materials. Quality Technician will assist the Quality Team in maintaining food safety, quality, and regulatory, programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Primary:
· Prepare and perform sensory evaluations
· Preform analysis of finished goods and RMS Flavor keys
· Prepare laboratory samples and COC.
· Perform ATP swabs as well as allergen verification
· Perform environmental swabs (food contact, non-food contact, water, air, misc.).
· Conduct Pre-operation and post sanitation inspections for production lines.
· Ensure products are received, manufactured, and packaged in a safe, quality manner to meet quality and
· food safety specifications. (Raw material intake)
Secondary:
· Assist QC Manager with customer-based sample and testing requirements
· Ensure QC lab is clean, organized, and equipment is calibrated
· Maintain the Hold Program and assist in the CAPA measures.
· Work closely with the sanitation department to ensure the effectiveness of the documentation implemented
· sanitation and shoe mat program.
· Enforce quality standards on raw materials and finished goods through inspections and analysis.
· Examine/maintain retention samples
· File documentation such as Certificate of Analysis, batch cards among others.
· Conduct GMP inspections and governance to food safety and quality procedures on production floor.
· Comply and participate with company’s GMP’s and Food Safety Programs.
· Assist with maintaining records for HACCP, SQF, and FSMA.
· Act in a support role to the Quality Assurance Technician.
· Report food safety and quality concerns to Quality Assurance Manager.
· Miscellaneous projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
· 2 years practical experience in quality control lab, food safety, quality assurance, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
· Analytical chemistry and statistical knowledge.
· Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) knowledge.
· Knowledge of FDA 21 CFR 110 and FSMA regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in food-science or related field or 2 years of college education preferably in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry.
· SQF Certification.
· HACCP certification.
· Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) knowledge.

Working Conditions:

· Standing, walking, and physical activity required throughout the shift
Physical Demands:
· Ability to stand for long periods
· Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
· Ability to use stairs and ladders
· Some lifting required to carry product samples and documentation
· Comfortable working on elevated platforms and lift devices (3’–15’)
· Physically capable of working under elevated temperature conditions
