Job Description
The Manager, Imaging Services oversees the daily operations, personnel, and processes within the department to ensure high-quality diagnostic imaging services. This includes managing staff, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, optimizing workflows, and ensuring that patient care is delivered efficiently and effectively. The role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise in radiological imaging, and a focus on delivering patient-centered care.
Responsibilities :
Operational Management :
- Oversee the daily operations of radiology services, including diagnostic imaging (X-ray and MRI).
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure efficient workflows and adherence to industry standards.
- Monitor and ensure optimal utilization of equipment and resources.
- Collaborate with other departments and healthcare providers to coordinate imaging services for patient care.
- Manages each group of imaging technicians at all locations by ensuring that priorities in work assignments are met, preventive maintenance compliance is maintained and vendors are managed appropriately,
- Aids in managing the acquisition of new technology by conducting pre-purchase evaluations and assessment. Provides recommendations to physician ownership / leaders as to alternatives for technology and technology service methods.
- Responsible for the documentation of service and calibration of radiographic equipment according to state, local and department requirements.
- Executes an equipment preventive maintenance and inspection program to ensure performance and safety standards are maintained as per organization policy.
- Performs all duties inherent to manager role. Participates in hiring, training, evaluation and termination of assigned staff according to policies and procedures.
- Manager will perform certain technologist functions on an as needed basis as per their competencies.
- Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.
