We’re looking to bring on a Founding Design Engineer to bring our designs to life. As part of the founding team, you will work closely with the Founders (Weber and Alex) and our Founding Designer (Ethan) to build FLORA, thinking from first principles how we should interact with creative tools in a generative age.
Requirements
- Deep expertise with React, JavaScript/Typescript, HTML, CSS and modern front-end build systems (Webpack, ES6, etc).
- Experience with building, maintaining, and working within robust design systems.
- Experience designing and building rich, interactive apps and interfaces with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ideally have worked with production JavaScript / Node backends.
- Proficient with HCI, UI, and UX design principles
- Experience with 2D browser-based interface animation and popular libraries and frameworks (GSAP, P5.js, Framer Motion, Lottie). Additional experience with 3D animation tools and/or languages (WebGL, GLSL, Three.js, Spline) is a plus.
- Familiar with ML-powered tools with user-friendly interfaces.
- Experience with modern design & prototyping tools (Figma, Framer, Origami)
- Experience working collaboratively with designers

We started FLORA because current AI creative tools are built by non-creatives for other non-creatives to feel creative. We are obsessed with building a power tool for creative professionals, not a toy for generating AI slop.
