Experienced Optician-Full Time | Flores Optometry Inc

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused experienced Optician to join our dynamic and cross trained team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for greeting and checking in patients, pretesting and assisting patients in selecting and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses along with ensuring a high level of service and satisfaction. This role requires a strong understanding of optical products, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescription and lifestyle needs.
• Perform fittings for eyeglasses, ensuring proper alignment and comfort.
• Educate patients on proper eyewear and contact lens care and maintenance.
• Maintain an organized display of optical products, ensuring inventory is well-stocked and visually appealing.
• Process orders for eyewear and manage patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Provide expert frame adjustment and repairs of glasses
• Pre-test patients for optometrist
• Handle retail transactions efficiently while providing exceptional customer service.
• Greet and check in patients
• Stay updated on the latest trends in eyewear fashion and technology.

Qualifications

• Proficient in using optical equipment and tools.
• Proficiency in frame styling, lens selection and fitting adjustments
• 3 years of experience as an optician (required)
• ABO certification (preferred but not required)
• Strong knowledge of anatomy related to vision care.
• Familiarity with medical coding and billing
• Experience in retail management or sales, particularly within the optical field.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, including seniors and children.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while managing individual responsibilities.
• Bilingual (Spanish speaking preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
