Florida A&M University’s Office of Compliance and Ethics is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for the Coordinator, Intercollegiate Athletics vacancy.
Responsibilities
The Compliance Coordinator serves as a key member of the University’s Athletics Compliance team, responsible for the coordination and oversight of key functions supporting intercollegiate sports programs. This position plays a vital role in assisting with program development and policy implementation within Athletics, while ensuring compliance with University standards and the regulations of national, regional, and state athletic associations.
Planning and implementing of comprehensive rules and education programs; Application and interpretation of NCAA bylaws, with emphasis on Bylaws 14,15 and 16; Assist in the completion of initial eligibility evaluations, transfer evaluations, athletic eligibility certification, production of grant-in-aid agreements, squad list data input, and institutional financial aid (FAFSA); Monitors team awards, individual awards and other benefits for student-athletes.
Providing rule interpretations to coaches, student-athletes, staff, and supporters by providing accurate and timely information in accordance to the NCAA, Southwestern Athletic Conference, and University legislation and policies; and Assists in the maintenance of compliance software (specifically People Soft, NCAA Compliance Assistant, NCAA Eligibility Center, ARMS, and various other technology tools.
Shares responsibility of facilitating institutional control over athletic programs to ensure consistent adherence and behavior with the NCAA, Southwestern Athletic Conference, and University regulations while maintaining an environment that promotes the highest level of integrity and demonstrates an unwavering commitment to the highest level of ethical behavior; and, supports the University’s multi-faceted approach to compliance and commitment to integrity by contributing to collaborative initiatives that benefit Athletics Compliance.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in appropriate area of specialization and two years of related experience; or master's degree in appropriate area of specialization.
Recommended Competencies
Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously;
Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply NCAA and Division rules and regulations;
Knowledge of applicable computer software and basic computer functions;
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing;
Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations;
Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices; and,
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Pay Plan
This is an Administrative and Professional (A&P) position.

Successful candidate is subject to a pre-employment screening which includes a review of criminal records, reference checks and verification of education. An official college transcript, a high school diploma, or other educational documents must be submitted, where applicable, at the time of employment.
