WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE:
The Customer Service Representative is responsible for scheduling patient appointments for all Florida Eye Clinic doctors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The Customer Service Representative must:
- Be a high school graduate or equivalent.
- Have a well-modulated, friendly vocal expression.
- Have prior experience using a computer terminal.
- Type accurately at a minimum of 70 wpm.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Schedules patients’ appointments based on the specific parameters of all O.D.s and M.D.s.
- Accurately enters appointments into the computer-supported appointment scheduler.
- Reschedules missed or canceled appointments, and adjusts schedules as necessary.
- Confirms appointments.
- Logs patient insurance referrals.
- Updates patient information in the computer.
OTHER DUTIES:
- Delivers messages to staff.
- Looks up patient chart numbers for messages to be forwarded to the Medical Records department.
- Provides switchboard backup coverage.
- Any other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned.
EQUIPMENT:
Operates standard office equipment including: Computer and multi-line telephone.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Aptitudes: Audio and verbal ability, ability to organize.
Techniques: Requires 100% verbal interaction with people, manual dexterity to an extent of 95-100%, lifting and reaching limited to extent of 85-90%, sitting 100%.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to operate computer
Ability to sit for extended periods of time
Ability to operate multi-line telephone system
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bilingual Preferred, Spanish.
Ophthalmology or Medical Practice Experience Preferred.
SALARY:
$15.00/hour , to commensurate with experience.
