What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Maintenance Technician position at Florida Tech?
Responsibilities Include:
- Perform a variety of general skilled and unskilled maintenance, construction and repair work on buildings and equipment.
- Answer service tickets as assigned, work from oral and written instructions.
- Utilize the service ticket electronic system using assigned i-pad. Assist trades with preventative maintenance tasks and
documentation. - Work independently on assigned tasks or assist other trades as directed. Must demonstrate flexibility in daily duty assignments and be able to switch tasks as directed to support Department needs.
- Must have an excellent customer service attitude, ability to work with and support fellow staff members in accordance with HR
policies and Department directives. - Comply with safety directives, complete directed safety training. Use all tools and equipment in a safe manner
- Hurricane preparedness and support as directed.
Requirements Include:
- High school diploma or GED
- 10 hour OSHA Certification, preferred
- State of Florida driver's license and ability to maintain a good driving record defined by Florida Tech's insurance company
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience
Official transcripts of all collegiate work must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Human Resources Office prior to the first day of employment. All international degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc.
