This role is responsible for operational excellence, HR system integrity, intake and service delivery effectiveness, and the leadership and development of the People Operations team. The position plays a critical role in maintaining stability, scalability, and compliance within the People function.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
People Operations Execution
- Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure timely, compliant, and consistent employee lifecycle experiences.
- Ensure accurate employee data management and HR transactions across systems.
- Maintain consistency in People Operations practices across departments, entities, and locations.
- Monitor operational workflows and identify gaps, risks, or challenges to drive process improvements.
- Partner with HR business partners and other functional teams to ensure seamless integration of HR programs and processes.
- Lead, coach, and develop People Operations team members to drive high performance and accountability.
- Set team priorities, assign work, and manage workload distribution to meet service expectations.
- Provide guidance, feedback, and support to ensure quality, timeliness, and consistency of work.
- Identify team development needs and implement targeted training and skill-building programs.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture aligned with organizational values and service standards.
- Lead HR systems administration and data governance in partnership with HRIS and cross-functional teams.
- Maintain People Operations documentation, job aids, and standard operating procedures.
- Drive process improvement, standardization, and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Analyze HR operational metrics to inform decisions and support leadership with actionable insights.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and employment regulations across People Operations activities.
- Oversee the HR intake and request routing model to ensure clear entry points for HR support.
- Monitor request volume, response times, resolution trends, and service effectiveness.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce rework, and enhance the employee and leader experience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional HR teams to resolve escalated operational issues and
- streamline processes.
- Support internal and external audits, including HRIS data, payroll feeds, benefits eligibility, and employee lifecycle transactions.
- Maintain accurate and auditable HR records and reporting.
- Ensure operational adherence to employment laws, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Recommend corrective actions to mitigate operational or compliance risks.
- Resolves complex People Operations issues by analyzing workflows, data integrity, and service delivery challenges.
- Identifies root causes of operational breakdowns and implements corrective and preventive actions.
- Escalates sensitive or high-risk matters appropriately while ensuring continuity of service.
- Exercises independent judgment in managing People Operations workflows, systems administration, and team priorities.
- Authorized to approve HR system transactions, operational process changes, and workload assignments within established policies.
- Makes decisions related to service delivery models, intake processes, and operational standards.
- Does not make final determinations regarding employee relations investigations, talent acquisition strategy, benefits strategy, or enterprise learning programs.
- Directly manages People Operations team members.
- Supports a diverse employee population across multiple departments, leaders, and potentially multiple entities or locations.
- Operates in a centralized environment requiring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance.
- Balances day-to-day operational demands with continuous improvement and scalability initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of progressive experience in People Operations or HR administration.
- 2 years of experience leading or supervising HR or People Operations teams.
- Strong working knowledge of HR systems, employee lifecycle processes, and data governance.
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms (paycom, workday, ADP etc.) and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint).
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or equivalent project management certification preferred.
- Knowledge of employment laws, compliance requirements, and HR operational best practices.
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms (Paycom, Workday, ADP etc.) and Microsoft Office tools.
- Experience supporting healthcare or other regulated industries.
- Experience leading People Operations in a multi-entity or multi-location organization.
- Experience with HR intake models, shared services, or service delivery frameworks.
- Ability to travel up to 30% between company sites to support leaders, teams, and business operations.
Salary : $80,000 - $108,000
