We are seeking an experienced Sanitary / High Purity Pipe Fitter for a shop fabrication role supporting food and pharmaceutical processing systems. This position focuses on precision fit-up and fabrication of hygienic stainless-steel piping and assemblies in a controlled shop environment. Candidates must have strong attention to detail and experience working to GMP and sanitary standards.

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Sanitary / High Purity Pipe Fitter for a shop fabrication role supporting food and pharmaceutical processing systems. This position focuses on precision fit-up and fabrication of hygienic stainless-steel piping and assemblies in a controlled shop environment. Candidates must have strong attention to detail and experience working to GMP and sanitary standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate and fit sanitary stainless steel piping assemblies (304/316L)
- Perform layout, cutting, beveling, and fit-up for orbital and manual welding
- Read and interpret isometric drawings, spool sheets, and P&IDs;
- Build repeatable piping spools, skids, Valve Clusters and assemblies to specification
- Install sanitary valves, fittings, clamps, and specialty components
- Maintain clean fabrication and material handling practices
- Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, USDA, and ASME BPE standards
- Assist with inspection, pressure testing, passivation, and QA documentation
- Maintain a clean and safe shop environment
- 3 years of experience as a sanitary or high-purity pipe fitter
- Experience in food & beverage and/or pharmaceutical fabrication
- Strong knowledge of sanitary stainless steel piping systems
- Ability to read fabrication drawings and spool packages
- High attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Live within commuting distance of Powhatan, VA
- Orbital welding fit-up experience
- Knowledge of CIP/SIP systems
- Knowledge of Valve manifolds
- Experience with documentation and traceability requirements
- OSHA 10 certification
- Steady, year-round shop work (no travel)
