Buyer

Role Summary:

Flowserve is looking for an experienced Buyer for parts and materials used in the manufacturing of valves. In this role you will develop relationships with key suppliers and execute purchases to meet high quality standards and support on-time-delivery. You will work on strengthening the alignment of the Company's Purchasing strategy and business strategy. You will work in close relationship with the Supply Chain Team to support various short- and long-term projects.

This is a full-time position for our Springville, UT plant.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize MRP system to manage buy signals, refine part lead time and maintain accurate pricing.

• Request price quotes for items in assigned categories and make best decision for buy execution.

• Manage inventory levels to accommodate production requirements and minimize excess inventory.

• Follow up on orders placed to ensure on time delivery on both external suppliers and intercompany orders.

• Proactively identify and resolve supplier issues pertaining to on-time delivery, quality and payment.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of relevant purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment with a BS or BA Degree in related field; or 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

• MRP Purchasing knowledge and experience required.

• Working knowledge of purchasing laws and rules.

• Able to read and understand specifications.

• Fluency in English.

• Good understanding of all main purchasing areas: negotiations, evaluation and development of suppliers, supplier quality, logistics etc.

• Global and strategic negotiating skills.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills

• Able to read and understand mechanical drawings.

• Working experience with Oracle.

• Familiarity with foundry and castings.
