The purpose of this job is to perform security/manual work functions associated with conducting Recycling Center operations and overseeing the safety and security of offenders assigned to Recycling Center work detail.

The purpose of this job is to perform security/manual work functions associated with conducting Recycling Center operations and overseeing the safety and security of offenders assigned to Recycling Center work detail.
Responsibilities:
- Supervises and guards offenders on assigned work details.
- Enforces established correctional facility rules and regulations; assists in restraining violent/unruly offenders.
- Conducts head-counts of offenders; searches offenders, buildings, vehicles, and grounds to locate/remove contraband or weapons.
- Instructs offenders on proper work techniques.
- Monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work; releases offenders back to correctional facility upon completion of work detail.
- Evaluates safety and security of work area; monitors work safety factors to ensure crew safety.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) years’ experience in recycling operations, manufacturing or related field.
- Candidates may qualify with any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
- Must be able to obtain a Basic Corrections Officer Training (BCOT) Certification within one year.
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with a P endorsement within 6 months.
