What are the responsibilities and job description for the Piping Designer position at Fluor Corp?
- Reports to Engr Mgt and acts as the overall space planner, space manager/traffic cop, and QC’s the 3D model periodically from a technical design perspective
- Interfaces with all Design Disciplines – design leads and engineering to create and maintain work areas per discipline, per building.
- Work with Piping to develop and issue space management plans for each major area in BD phase
- Work with Engr Mgt to develop model management plans, develop model maturity matrices, model review framework
- QC’s the 3D model periodically. Conducts Model Readiness audits. Leads internal design reviews/ model reviews with inter-discipline teams. Focus on consistency of approach across area.
- Perform visual clash management in BD phase, and participate in clash resolutions after active/ electronic clash management begins.
- Participates in external design reviews/ model reviews with inter-discipline teams (or serve as backup for a Node PE)
- Interfaces with BIM Manager and BIM coordinator
- Interfaces with client Engr Mgt and Node Leads on an as needed basis
- Interfaces with design contractors as needed (for example, kick off meetings and explaining the model management/ space management plans)• Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and twenty-five (25) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twenty-seven (27) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner• Preferred Semiconductor experience would include any or many of the following:
• Stress analysis and pre-planning of supports for piping laterals (including plastic and high purity systems),
• Seismic support planning, and specification of typical semiconductor piping systems (including high purity tubing, fiberglass, HDPE, PP, PVDF, dual-contained piping with spiders, etc).This position is designed to be performed at one of the Company’s main offices; however, a US remote or hybrid work arrangement may be considered for the preferred candidate.
Salary : $115,000 - $212,500
