Flushing Fire EMS is looking to add EMT's to our team to provide emergency medical care to our residents. The EMS staff will work with the medical team to provide care to patients who are experiencing medical emergencies. This position is responsible for providing primary care to patients of all ages in a non-hospital setting. This is a non-transporting ALS unit. This position provides coverage for shifts starting at 6am-6pm or 6pm-6am seven days a week.
Qualifications:
- Current state of Michigan licensed EMT
- Current high school diploma or equivalent required
- Current CPR certification required
- PEARS, PHTLS, and Licensed by Genesee County Medical Control
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Excellent communication skills, writing skills, attention to detail skills, and ability to multi-task and manage multiple situations effectively.
Essential Duties:
- Provide primary care for all patients. Provide preventative care such as checking vital signs, administering medications, or injections.
- Assist with monitoring vital signs of the patient during their treatment. Maintain patient charts and document appropriate treatment information in the patient’s chart.
- Follow all departmental policies and procedures and state regulations in order to provide consistent quality care across all patients under your care.
- Maintain a professional demeanor while working in a confidential manner with all patients and staff members as required.
- Complete other tasks assigned by the fire chief or his designee.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12 – 24 per week
