Golf Course Starter Job Description
Summary: The Starter is the golf course steward who is primarily responsible for tee-off times, directing flow of traffic and initial pace of play.
Job Duties:
- Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner
- Manage the flow of players on the golf course to maintain an efficient pace of play
- Checks with the golf shop for any unusual or special instructions
- Constantly obtain an updated tee sheet
- Brief patrons on course rules/policies and any special conditions that exist
- Enforce groups tee off on time and keep the pace of play consistent
- Maintain continuous communication with Golf Pro Shop Staff
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Assist with Marshal duties as needed
Prerequisites:
Must have excellent oral communication, excel within a team dynamic, strong organizational skills, and exceptional time management. Must be able to work extended periods outdoors in various weather conditions and standing for long periods of time. Also, have outstanding customer service. Valid Driver’s License required.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in the golf industry, as well as customer service.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week
