Business Development Associate

Main Function:

Supports business development function by developing and pursuing leads to expand FM’s customer portfolio. Meets or exceeds sales call targets, reaching the appropriate decisions makers, to facilitate FM being able to provide proposals for contract maintenance and other services. Responsible for handling inbound solicitations, as well as being the primary team member focused on executing our outbound business development strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Director of Sales and Business Development:

  • Identifies and develops leads utilizing on-line research, customer farming, and networking, including utilizing in-house resources
  • Presents, promotes, and sells FM contract services to prospective customers.
  • Provides potential customers with educational and marketing materials as required.
  • Evaluates customer’s needs and identifies appropriate contract solutions, including upsell opportunities.
  • Follows up with key decision makers, nurturing all leads to successful award.
  • Works with internal resources to coordinate site visits and appointments as needed.
  • Maintains and updates CRM system daily by compiling and documenting all information regarding new and existing opportunities and related activity.
  • Develops and maintains a thorough knowledge of FM’s services, market behavior, industry regulations, and competitive trends, and responds accordingly.
  • Identifies and assists with developing other marketing channels to drive qualified leads
  • Cold calls assigned leads to educate them about FM’s service offerings and initiate RFP’s
  • Provides quotes to prospects based on customer specifications and company pricing policies
  • Enters and updates CRM system with any awarded contracts, including customer info, equipment, contacts, locations, service schedule, contracts, and any special customer requirements.
  • Ensures accurate and detailed documentation of all customer specifications and requirements; Completes and processes all paperwork timely and in accordance with Company policy.
  • Meets regularly with Business Development team to review weekly activities, progress on goals, and status of prospective workload.
  • Participates in trade shows and other promotional efforts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

  • Must present and communicate in a professional manner including exhibiting an outstanding telephone demeanor
  • Projects a positive image to clients and the community consistent with FM’s values
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Strong administrative skills: analytical, organized, good follow through, and able to manage multiple demands/expectations daily.
  • Provide creative and customized solutions for customers and the Company.
  • Maintain a service-oriented and customer-focused mindset
  • Computer proficiency in Window’s and Microsoft applications.
  • Possesses strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Must be self-motivated and creative to work independently to meet or exceed goals.
  • Establishes realistic expectations for the customer so that our first impression is a favorable one

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing or Business or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of office-based sales experience
  • Must be able to communicate well, understand and respond to questions, directions, and training.
  • Previous industry experience a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Canton, MA 02021: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

  • Business development: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Sales: 1 year (Preferred)

Work Location: In person

Salary : $50,000 - $55,000
