ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Schedule functional area to achieve optimal usage on machines
- Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications
- Direct setup and adjustment of machines
- Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment
- Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assign duties
- Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
- Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work
- Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems
- Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals
- Maintain time and production records
- Estimate, requisition, and inspect materials
- Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments
- Perform activities of workers supervised
- Comply with applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations, Company policy and accepted
- Executes necessary precautions to ensure safety and compliance with Company, OSHA, and other standards and
- Perform additional related duties as assigned
- Completion of NTMA apprenticeship preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Machine Tool Technology
- Minimum ten years work experience
- Between three and five years of trade school, vocational education, or four years formal apprenticeship
- Comprehensive knowledge of theoretical and practical aspects of blueprint reading, GD & T
- Extensive knowledge of accepted inspection practices
- Extensive knowledge of CNC programming
- Demonstrated ability at operating computer numerical control machines
- Ability to read blueprints to ensure accuracy in part making
- Ability to speak basic English language
- Visual acuity: near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints, and
- Hearing ability: ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate
- Frequently required to stand, walk, push, reach over head, and bend to the floor
- Frequently required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
