Description
Construction Crew Member
Objective:
- Optimize safety, quality, and efficiency on client projects.
- Efficiently learn to perform tasks with Focal Pointe standards.
- Work with Construction Foreman & peers to produce quality work under budget.
Reports to: Construction Foreman
Supervises: None
Responsibilities:
- Consistently on time and working in a professional manner.
- Participates and practices all safety procedures presented in weekly safety meetings.
- Perform landscape installation tasks, to include mulching, blowing, planting, removal of plant material, grading of soil, laying bricks and blocks, etc.
- Develop and maintain a positive work relationship with Construction Foreman and peers.
- Demonstrates the ability to correct complaints and communicate with the Construction Foreman.
- Proactively communicate with Crew Members, Construction Foreman, Field Superintendents, and Project Managers for any safety related issues and account status while on properties.
- Follow procedure for accurate post-accident reporting and follow through.
- Follow Focal Pointe uniform policy to be neat and professional in appearance.
Qualifications
- Must be a person of integrity, worthy of being part of the professional Focal Pointe team.
- Accommodating, friendly, authentic disposition, prone to build long lasting relationships.
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to work hard, high attention to detail, follow-up, and the ability to prioritize.
- Proficient equipment operating skills including but not limited to skid steers, pruners, tampers, sod cutters, block splitters, chain, and concrete saws, etc.
- Participate in snow removal as a Crew Member.
- Makes an effort to learn and use English skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s License with approved driving record.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Employee is frequently required to sit, climb, stand, walk, handle, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk and hear.
- The employee must occasionally lift and /or move objects up to fifty pounds.
- Employees in this position are occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions including extreme cold, heat, wind, and rain.
- Employees are occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Employees are occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.
