FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt
General Statement of Duties:
The Maintenance worker is responsible for maintaining the upkeep of the Focus: HOPE facilities
& grounds.
The General Maintenance Worker will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate and use hand and power tools, ladders, and scaffolds and tradesman‘s tools under
the direction of the supervisor.
- Usage of materials such as oil, grease, hoses, steel, iron, hardware lumber, water, air cleaning materials and paint.
- Grounds maintenance including grass cutting, weed whipping, etc.
- Assist other maintenance personnel workers.
- Keep work area clean and orderly.
- Perform other related duties as assigned,
Requirements
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing and walking.
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong commitment to civil and human rights.
- Ability to work well with other colleagues.
- Ability to perform routine or non-complex maintenance tasks without assistance or supervision.
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
Education, Training and Experience:
- High school graduate or equivalent training and/or experience
