Brewer

Fogbelt Brewing Co. seeks an experienced brewer in our facility located in Santa Rosa, CA. This position would work directly under the brewmaster/co-founder in all aspects of the production process. Summary: Responsible for working in a team environment and independently running the brew house with the objective of producing a consistent, quality packaged beer while maintaining sanitary and safe working conditions by performing the following duties:

-Responsible for wort production on 15-barrel brewhouse; including but not limited to raw material handling, milling, mash/lauter operation, wort boiling, cooling, and BH CIP

-Responsible for CIP and preparation of fermentation tanks

-Responsible for taking the beer through fermentation, finishing and packaging.

-Responsible for operating canning line.

-Keep accurate records for brewing, packaging, and inventory.

-Communicate clearly and accept communication.

-Ensure that sensory evaluation is monitored responsibly and results are communicated constructively.

-Work closely with owners, sales manager, operations manager, and other brewing staff to execute and pass off tasks effectively.

-Maintain a sanitary environment, which includes but not limited to cleaning floors, walls, tanks, hoses and other equipment.

-Participate in company events as needed while maintaining professional composure.

-Operate forklift and other material handling equipment.

-Mechanical repair, maintenance and troubleshooting.

-Comfortable working with chemicals of varying composition and maintaining adherence to safety standards during routine cleaning of brewing equipment.

Requirements

-Work on a ladder periodically up to height of 18 feet.

-Physically be able to bend over, twist, kneel, climb stairs, stand all day, lift 55 pounds, work in a non-temperature-controlled environment and repeatedly handle hot and cold liquids.

-Able to stand for long periods of time (up to 8-10 hours per day).

-Strictly follow recipes and standard operating procedures while recommending ways of improving them.

-Willingness to work occasional weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.

-Strong written and verbal communication skills

-Strong technical and mechanical skills

-Computer and spreadsheet proficiency

-High School Diploma / GED. Brewing, Engineering, or other related education and experience preferred

-21 years of age, proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States

-Passion for craft beer!
