Retail Donation Coordinator
This position establishes and manages relationships with convenience stores, big box stores and grocers in 55 counties to further expand food recovery efforts and support retail donations.
This position is based in Des Moines. Bachelor’s degree and/or comparable experience in sales and marketing or retail marketing required. Grocery industry experience is a plus. A valid Iowa driver’s license and desire to travel outside of the office regularly is required, as is the ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
- Manage retail donation receipts
- Create and maintain retail donor recognition program
- Foster relationships to ensure commitment to and understanding of the retail donation program
- Identify retail managers to mentor others in their company
- Generate monthly retail donation reports and provide them to primary corporate contacts
- Support agencies participating in the retail store donation program in collaboration with FBOI regional partnership coordinators
- Educate stores on the benefits of retail donation
- Establish and maintain standard operating procedures and appropriate internal control safeguards
- Incorporate trained volunteers where applicable and beneficial
