What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retail Pricing Specialist position at Food City?
Job Summary: Work associated with this position involves consulting with directors on item profitability and competitiveness. This includes monitoring all routine price changes including promotional pricing, as well as adjustments for competitive pricing and cost changes. Working with and assisting store personnel with pricing issues. Working closely with the Category managers to optimize category profitability.
Essential Job Functions:
- Analyze weekly reports and edits for all price changes, including promotional pricing.
- Assist store personnel with resolving various issues including pricing discrepancies, price tag concerns, and product availability.
- Provide Category Managers with analytical research needed to make decisions on competitive pricing, product performance and profitability, and marketing strategies as well as many other aspects of category management.
- Report all retail price changes to the department assistant for timely maintenance of the price book.
- Process special orders/bid orders from customers by providing competitive pricing, coordinating shipping and delivery, and preparing invoices when needed.
- Visit all new stores prior to opening to evaluate overall price image, merchandising image and function, price tag image, and inventory on hand.
- Visits to competitor stores.
- Process vendor deal sheets and closeout material.
- Process planogram authorizations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Good working knowledge of office computer equipment and software systems
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to adapt to new procedures quickly
- Ability to work well with others
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks and have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals daily
- Ability to attend on-site work during normal business hours, in the typical work week, as well as extra time as needed to fulfill job duties
