What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deli Management position at Food Giant Supermarket?
Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Achieve sales and profit goals established for the department. Support the daily functions of the Deli operations.
Essential Job Functions:
· Communicate company and department information to associates
- Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume during hours of operation
- Train and develop associates on performance
- Adhere to all local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
- Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and store
- Slice deli meats and cheeses to customers' requests using proper equipment
- Provide customers with fresh products and the correct portion size to prevent shrink
- Use all equipment in deli/bakery according to company guidelines
- Educate department associates about current, upcoming and special in-store promotions
- Monitor and control expenses for the department
- Maintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify management
- Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify management of any items in need of repair
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
- Ability to handle stressful situations
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
