JOB TITLE: Development Assistant
Reports to: Development Database Manager
Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Hours: Monday-Friday, occasional weekends / after-hour events
Location: On-Site, Foodbank ShareHouse (82 Coromar Dr. Goleta, CA 93117)
Salary Range: $21.63 – 25.00 hourly, taxable, commensurate with experience

About the Position:
The Development Assistant (DA) is responsible for proper utilization of the organization’s Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM) donor database, including deposit and gift processing, acknowledgement letters, data entry, and data integrity. The DA reports to the Development Database (DDM) Manager and will play a critical role in supporting them with reporting, internal mailing lists, events, donor communication, board related activities and projects related to annual fundraising initiatives. The DA will also be involved in improving efficiencies within our database especially as related to new AI products and technology. This role will support both North and South County, with training, monthly, and quarterly meetings.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the DDM to manage the Salesforce CRM donor database and improve processes to increase efficiencies.
- Process deposits, enter all donations in CRM donor database, and code to appropriate revenue line.
- Create reports for Finance, Development, and Strategic Communications teams.
- Manage donor profiles, mailing schedules, update donor accounts as needed.
- Process and mail donor acknowledgements within 72 hours of deposit dates.
- Prepare internal mailing lists for mailings including the Annual Report, letters, and invitations.
- Manage new donor activities and new donor packet mailings as assigned.
- Complete address updates, iwave integrations, and support of database improvement projects as per the DDM.
- Other duties as assigned or delegated.
Successful Candidates will have:
- One-year experience with database management.
- Experience utilizing Salesforce or another CRM preferred.
- Development experience preferred.
- Graduation from a 4 year college or equivalent experience

- Ability to meet deadlines while managing a multitude of tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Ability to work in a team and various departments in an organization; Interact with diplomacy, professionalism and tact amid influential donors and diverse groups.
