Position Summary
The Information Technology Application Analyst will be responsible for configuration, upgrading, and maintaining applications, including on-premises/cloud integrations. Respond to security incidents, vulnerabilities, and threats. Documents changes, new features, and functionality. Enhance and expand current usage of various core applications to support the University student, faculty, alumni, and administrative population. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Core Applications.
Essential Functions
- The candidate must have the ability to follow existing processes and procedures independently. Demonstrate experience in Office 365, Azure AD, or Google Workspaces. Responsible for escalations in the ticketing queue.
- Facilitates open communication and collaboration within a multi-functional cross-silo team and stakeholders.
- Manages vendors to facilitate the delivery of services, control costs, drive service excellence, mitigate risks, and gain increased value throughout the life of the relationship.
- Consults with management and other technical teams to identify many of the following: implementation requirements, functional designs, process designs, prototyping, testing, training, and defining support procedures, service levels, and restoration objectives in the event of a loss of service.
- Incorporates best practices into all pre-deployment, implementation, and day forward process recommendations.
- Needs to be available for support (which may be off-hours). This includes acting as an on-call resource during extended coverage periods on a rotating basis, overnight and weekend support, participating in Incident Response, Disaster Recovery, and Business Continuity testing or execution as needed.

- Reviews and validates analysis, and develops recommendations in the context of functional area or full project
- Facilitates constructive communication across the team

- Leads scope development
- Helps team to understand and evaluate relationships between project goals and career development
- Reviews deliverables to ensure that they meet expectations and are consistent with IT standards
- Manages day to day relationships with vendors and consultants
- Demonstrates knowledge of client's business model and decision-making framework and identifies areas of improvement
- Provides recommendations to client and staff for technical designs and analyses
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 4-6 years of software systems administration or related systems experience, preferably in an educational environment
- 3 years of experience in application support for Office 365 solutions, Active Directory/Azure AD, or Google workspaces
- Strong scripting/development skills with Python, Perl, Shell
- Fluency in Powershell
- Strong technical ability in identifying, analyzing, and resolving client problems.
- An overall service-minded approach comprising of solid communication skills (written and verbal) as well as excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong skills in the following ITIL practices are preferred: system integration, change management, incident management, problem management, and service management.
- Experience with SMTP Email relaying and routing
- Working knowledge of public cloud infrastructure providers like AWS, AZURE, GCP
- Broad understanding of industry trends across architecture, cloud operating platforms, cloud security, and data management
- Demonstrated understanding of Fordham’s culture and environment, as well as the technical, business, and cultural environment of higher education in general
- Familiar with teaching environment, curriculum development, and processes
- Strong skills in the performance and supervision of the following:
- Specific application of concepts within area of technical expertise
- Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills
- Independent management of own workflow and work outcomes

- Ability to interact professionally with staff, faculty, and students

Minimum Starting Salary: $81,000
Maximum Starting Salary: $101,000
Note: Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
