Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities)
The FVEY Combined Communications and Electronics Board (CCEB) is an organisation mandated to co-develop requirements and standards for the Communication and Information Systems (CIS) of the Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and United States militaries, thereby increasing interoperability. The Washington Staff, made up of representatives of each of the member nations, delivers the priorities of the CCEB Executive Group and Principal members, oversees several Working Groups, engages with other FVEYs forums and manages the publication library of five-nation standards.
This is an exciting time to be joining the CCEB. The forum has recently been given responsibility for high-profile and challenging new work to develop plans to address CIS requirements in strategically important areas. To do so, requires closer working with the FVEYs Chief Information and Chief Data Officers to enable delivery of requirements. Thus, the role will provide exposure and insight to the breadth of FVEYs capability development and delivery processes.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Provide UK representation to the Washington Staff of the FVEYs Combined Communications and Electronics Board (CCEB), alongside and in support of the main UK Washington Staff member.
- Share information with the UK Executive Group representative and UK Principal of the CCEB to prepare them for attendance at meetings and enable decisions to be taken.
- Support National Staff members to facilitate these meetings and undertake other work as required.
Contribute to the day-to-day business of the Washington Staff:
- Assist with the preparation of briefing material, presentations and agendas for CCEB meetings.
- Facilitate and attend EG and Principal’s meetings and provide reports as directed.
- Review the content of CCEB Publications to ensure the accuracy and adequacy of published policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Assist the Permanent Secretary of the Washington Staff as required.
Act as Liaison Officers (LNOs) to the UK chaired CCEB Working Groups ensuring activity is aligned to CCEB priorities:
- Maintain datasheets for these Working Groups to illustrate their progress and activity.
- Provide CCEB advice to WG Chairs and their respective membership as required.
Support Information Management within the Washington Staff forum by:
- Maintain the APAN CCEB website, keeping it consistent with all CCEB reports.
- Update the website and check for accuracy and consistency between records.
- Support CCEB members to access information as required.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience
- Information management experience preferably Microsoft (MS) SharePoint.
- Experience of meeting management and reporting.
- Skilled in use of MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Teams and SharePoint.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, including strong editorial and note-taking skills.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- As access to the majority of CCEB information is restricted to members of the CCEB Nations, applicant must meet criteria of being a National of AU, CA, NZ, UK, or US.
- Secret level clearance. Applicants must be able to pass the appropriate UK-issued clearance level prior to taking up the role if not already in receipt.

- Experience of working with Government and/or Military agencies either in UK/US or other FVEY Nation.
