What are the responsibilities and job description for the Milk Supply Planner position at Foremost Farms USA?
Position Overview
This position is responsible for inventory management for milk and milk related products to ensure internal production needs and customer expectations are met.
Key Accountabilities
Manage supply and movement of milk, skim, cream, and whey products:
• Main accurate on-hand inventories, understanding plant capabilities and run rules, customer orders/contracts/agreements
• Participate in purchases and sales of milk and other products
• Make on-the spot decisions, sometimes with limited information, to achieve the best outcomes
Enter accurate and timely information into systems:
• Create and edit requisitions, sales/purchase orders
• Enter information into 3rd party system for customer and internal milk/cream/skim
Respond outside of normal working hours (evenings & weekends):
• Respond to changes in day-to-day milk movement, emergency situations, transportation issues, plant downtime and customer changes/inquires
• Participate in the on-call rotation for weekends and holidays
Develop and maintain business relationships:
• Timely communication with Foremost personnel, customers, and suppliers to answer questions, implement changes and resolve issues
• Coordinate with 3rd party transportation companies on product movement and federal order milk qualifying
Other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
1. Associate degree in logistics or related field of study, or some college coursework
2. 3-5 years of job-related experience
Preferred Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in logistics or related field of study
