Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dental team in various clinical and administrative tasks. Duties
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following infection control protocols.
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety standards.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems for patient management.
- Conduct preliminary assessments including taking vital signs and gathering medical history.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions.
- Support pediatric dentistry needs by creating a welcoming environment for younger patients.
- Perform administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and handling dental receptionist tasks.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- Proficiency in using EMR systems.
- Familiarity with dental terminology, medical documentation, and coding.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques, anatomy, infection control measures, and medical imaging.
- Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly desirable.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 24 per week
