Aquatics Attendant - Summer 2024

The primary focus of the Aquatics attendant is to facilitate safe community recreation for everyone through integration, inclusion, and participation in aquatic recreation program here at Forest Highlands Golf Club.

Some of the essential functions in this position are:

• Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe environment 
• Provide towels, sunscreen and water by pool for members
• Keep the deck/seating area clean and welcoming at all times
• Manage the daily sign in/out sheet for all pool users and all aquatic equipment
• Convey all aquatic rules to those utilizing any of the aquatic facilities
• Instruct those students signed up for swim lessons during the time required
• Coordinate all private and group swim lessons 
• Supervise all members and guests and administer first aid as needed
• Perform routine facility maintenance

Hourly Wage is: $18.00 per hour plus additional for swim lessons performed

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

• Two years of High School or High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). 
• Previous swim instruction experience
• Current CPR/First Aid certification (opportunities to obtain these are available through Forest Highlands upon being hired).
• Clean back ground check
• Basic knowledge of pool facilities, country club and golf course operations.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
• Must be self-motivated with a positive and professional attitude.
• Organized, able to work in a busy environment where the priorities are changing.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks during busy times while working flexible hours with an enthusiastic personality.
• Must be reliable.

Preferred Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Water Safety Instructor Certification
• Aquatic emergency care certification
• Lifeguard Certificate
• 1 to 3 years of related experience in a private club; or equivalent combination of education and      experience
• Ability to operate golf carts
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in      following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
• CPR/First Aid and AED certified

  Physical Demands and Work Environment:

· Position is in a busy golf/country club in a private residential community.

· Flexibility in schedule.

· Ability to lift up to 25lbs regularly; up to 50lbs occasionally and to lift overhead and push/pull.

· Must be able to frequently walk, sit, stand, bend, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear, stoop kneel, crouch, adjust vision accordingly (close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception)

· Work in an upright standing position for long periods of time.

· Exposed to outside weather conditions including low temperatures.

· Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and a quiet work environment.

· Continuous ability to talk and hear.

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
