Job Description
Position Overview
The Communications and Multi-Media Coordinator works to develop and produce all aspects of the church’s print and online communications and marketing. This position will coordinate, prioritize and oversee production of all communication media and materials that promote and represent Forest Hills Baptist Church. This position will also collaborate with the leaders of the ministry areas and on publicity and communications in support of desired ministry outcomes.
Supervision
This position reports to the Office Administrator.
Type
This is a full-time, exempt, position with benefits.
Office Hours
9:30am-4:30pm (M-F).
Major Responsibilities
1. Maintenance of the FHBC website including social media – post, update, manage and maintain all information accurately to promote FHBC
2. Production of electronic E-news, digital newsletter, and paper newsletter a. Collect articles from staff, ministers and members b. Edit and verify information - seek out missing information c. Choose cover story and arrange information by importance/timeliness and ministry area d. Maintain consistency in theme and accuracy e. Oversee printing and mailing of newsletter without errors
3. Design and communicate publicity materials about FHBC events and worship services
4. Work directly with Pastors to create the Sunday Bulletin (Contemporary and traditional service) a. Seek out missing information from communication forms b. Verify special message for bulleting, such as flowers, births, new member, etc c. Meet with pastors to proof bulletin weekly before printing
5. Create weekly slide show for Gathering Place Kiosk and Wednesday Night Activity program
6. Design and produce seasonal Program Guides for various ministries such as the Adult
Program
7. Responsible for all email and phone blasts as needed including inclement weather
8. Coordinate and carry out special projects and outreach in support of church events a. Event fliers, posters, tickets, invitations, brochures etc.
9. Create system to ensure accuracy and minimal errors in all aspects of position
10. Visual and video creation including: a. Weekly announcement video for Contemporary Worship b. Create and advertise photos/videos as needed for special events and programs c. Create and share videos (as approved by ministers) to all social media and websites d. Photograph and/or video events and members as needed to create or updated printed and digital information and advertisements
Ongoing Responsibilities a. Answer phones b. Answer requests to enter the building (buzzer at door) c. Verify that phones and doors are always attended during office hours d. Inventory office supplies and report to administrator needs weekly e. Assist in creating and updating new member packets f. Assisting Ministers as requested g. Assist Ministers in special requests h. Weekly Sunday School attendance i. Assisting committees in special requests j. Deacon Ballots k. Funeral Bulletins/Wedding Bulletins l. Prepare wedding packets m. In Crowd Information (homebound members) n. Monthly Postcards for Shut-Ins and Youth Ministry o. Manage reservations for Special Events p. Proficient with all office machinery: copiers, fax, folding machine, lamination, postage meter, etc.
Essential Qualifications a. Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Publisher, Power point b. Proficient in Constant Contact (email marketing) c. Proficient in Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) d. Ability to set and adhere to deadlines e. Project management skills f. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills g. Highly detailed and organized h. Respectful, Punctual, Pleasant and Courteous i. Ability to learn ACS OnDemand Technology j. Ability to learn Squarespace for Church Website
Preferred Qualities
Training on Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator

College Degree
Certifications/Training or Experience in Design
