What are the responsibilities and job description for the Co-Founder position at Forofuse Labs?
We are building Elinity, an AI-powered social connection and relationship platform, and we are looking for a dynamic and experienced co-founder to join our startup, as we come up on our launch day. "Social connection apps are broken" is the constant complaint from anyone who either uses them or would want to, which is pretty much everyone, especially as more and more people want to spend more time in the real world, connecting and engaging with real people. We want to build the best way of helping people find their best-fit people, connecting them more deeply and meaningfully, helping them build their best relationships, and more. Building bridges between people needs a radical upgrade, the kind that has only now become possible with LLMs and other advances. We also believe that technology is not a mere reflector of society but a strong inducer in most cases, and we harbour ambitions of changing the culture around social connection to bring more joie de vivre, more spirit, more alignment, and more fulfilment.

Whilst being a product-first company, we also have a strong research emphasis, intending for our consumer products to flow through from our research efforts. Some of our primary research efforts will be building models that understand humans deeply, developing new paradigms of personally aligned AI systems, beyond deep learning, with an exciting roadmap of AI systems and companions focused on human flourishing, and more. We think of Elinity as the ecosystem, as the engine, that helps people find their best people, build their best relationships, and live their best lives, through an extensive and holistically-nurtured set of features, products, and the extended ideas and scaffolding around it all.
The ideal cofounder will have a track record of successfully building and scaling a company (preferably tech, but not mandatory) as well as a strong passion for growth, innovation, and solving real problems, solving the most fundamental problems of the human condition.
◦ Key skills, responsibilities, and areas
- Develop and execute the company's go-to-market strategy and growth strategy, engage with consumers, and develop innovative and viral ways of acquiring users, the latter including working with businesses and partners
- Build and manage a team of high-performing individuals who share the company's vision and values
- Engage in fundraising efforts: we will want to raise funds soon to kickstart developing our in-house models and fully-controlled tech stack, develop the product further, and execute upon our GTM
- Develop and maintain relationships with users, partners, and stakeholders
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive growth and revenue
- Oversee aspects of the company's operations, including growth, marketing, and finance
- Foster a culture of invention, collaboration, and accountability within the company
It goes without saying that the responsibilities outlined are not demarcated and as with any venture at our stage, a lot of this will be handled by others in the team. This is merely to give a sense of the scope of the role, to ensure that only those who have a broad and deep competence set apply.
◦ Traits of an ideal fit for the company we want to build [we consider these must-haves; kindly apply only if you meet these criteria]:
- A core thing this project requires is a great storyteller: a big part of the role will be framing some brand-new concepts the product introduces in a form that is easily digestible to the market
- Lateral thinker: this will be essential for solving the kinds of speed-scaling problems we will be grappling with, and for deploying the kinds of new technologies we will be inventing and launching
- High bias to action and emphasis on speed
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities: we want to build a uniquely inspiring, mission-driven company, and spreading that message, imbibing the values and culture we want to have and build, and broadcasting our mission to our employees, users, and stakeholders, will be an imperative directive for those at the helm.
- Experience in building and scaling a startup: in the fast-moving space we are operating in, with the potential of change and human flourishing at stake around the set of problems we will be solving through this vehicle, we are are excited to work with people who know what it takes to build something great, someone who has deployed 0 to 1 thinking to bring new kinds of products and ideas to the market.
- A deep understanding of human beings and consumer psychology - the foundation of which can be experience-agnostic - that can help craft deeply human-centric, profoundly thoughtful, aesthetically powerful, self-actualization enabling, and personally uplifting, products.
The compensation will be equity-based to begin with. Once we have raised funds or become post-revenue, whichever is sooner, the package will become equity salary.
If you're excited about the prospect of joining us in this mission of building better bridges and deeper relationships, to create products that allow for humans to actualize more of what makes for the most fulfilling of lived experiences, amplified by AI, where we will be building things that will become the standard in the years to come, and if you have the skillset and experience we're looking for, we'd love to hear from you. Let's build something great together, and change the world while we are at it!
