What are the responsibilities and job description for the Asset Management Analyst position at Forsyth County?
The purpose of this classification is to manage, analyze, and report on water and sewer assets across multiple information systems and to edit assets in GIS database, incorporate field data, research information from engineering records and interface with GIS staff to meet departmental needs. Configures and edits services requests, work orders, and inspection and reporting templates in AM-CMMS; provides support and training to AM-CMMS users. Serves as the subject matter expert on use of AM-CMMS and its relation to interactions with the GIS system.
Edits AM-CMMS and GIS data to incorporate field data; completes asset attributes including information from official records; correlates asset information between AM-CMMS and GIS for consistency and resolves and discrepancies.
Researches and analyzes record documentation; coordinates with Water System Engineers to identify and resolve issues. Identifies data collection activities needed in mission plans.
Uses AM-CMMS for asset management analysis and reporting; generates map displays, charts, graphs and hardcopy reports in AM-CMMS. Develops asset analysis techniques, processes and reports based on department needs and user requests. Provides complex analytical summaries incorporating data from multiple databases (ESRI GIS, Cityworks) using multiple software tools (Cityworks, Excel Power Pivot reports, Crystal Reports, and others).
Defines, maintains and monitors implementation procedures for asset data collection to ensure quality requirements are met.
Creates various maps; participates in composing and plotting maps, using computer-aided drafting; produces cadastral maps, plots, graphic simulation, and manuscript data for use by County departments and local agencies; provides maps and information for appraisers, co-workers, County departments, other governmental agencies, developers, real estate agencies, and the public. Maps may be created in the GIS system, Asset Management system, or a combination thereof.
Receives various forms, reports, correspondence, deeds, surveys, maps, plots, plats, GIS information, utility records, tax records, legal/court records, orthophotographs, aerial photographs, computer guides, journals, laws, regulations, manuals, directories, reference materials, or other documentation; reviews, completes, processes, forwards or retains as appropriate.
Operates a computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data; verifies accuracy of entered data and makes corrections; utilizes word processing, spreadsheet, database, geographical information system, parcel mapping, research, e-mail, Internet, or other computer programs; provides training, support, and assistance to system users including but not limited to GIS and Asset Management systems.
Operates a variety of specialized/general equipment and tools, which may include a computer, plotter, digitizer, GPS equipment, printer, microfiche copier, wide format copier, deed retrieval copier, fax machine, copier, calculator, telephone, or survey equipment.
Communicates with supervisor, employees, other departments, property owners, realtors, attorneys, surveyors, title searchers, builders, contractors, the public, outside agencies, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.
Maintains a comprehensive, current knowledge of applicable laws/regulations; maintains an awareness of new technologies, equipment, trends and advances in the profession; reads professional literature; maintains professional affiliations; attends conferences, workshops, and training sessions as appropriate.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
This classification is designated as a safety sensitive position which is subject to random drug and alcohol testing and any other drug testing methods as stated in policies adopted by Forsyth County concerning drug and alcohol.
Performs general/clerical tasks, which may include copying maps and other documents, sending/receiving faxes, filing documentation, or processing incoming/outgoing mail.
Provides assistance to other employees or departments as needed.
Performs other related duties as required.Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with training emphasis in information systems used for cartography, computerized mapping, drafting, or a related field; supplemented by four (4) years previous experience and/or training that includes enterprise software system use, operation, and maintenance. Example systems include but are not limited to: Cityworks or equivalent AM-CMMS; SQL database reporting systems including Crystal Reports or similar (SQL Studio); enterprise resource management systems such as Cogsdale, Munis, SAP, or equivalent; and ArcGIS geographical information system operations. Supervisory experience as a technical lead for junior personnel, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
