Title: Transportation Secretary
Qualifications:
- High school diploma.
- Proficiency in typing, working knowledge of basic office procedures and the operation of common office equipment and machines.
- Pleasant and positive personality.
- Ability to take instructions and work well with others.
- Ability to assist the public with tact and enthusiasm.
- Maintain a calm and professional demeanor even during stressful situations.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, Google and a willingness to learn different computer programs.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy and confidentiality in exercising duties.
- A genuine passion for working with children.
- Possess and maintain CDL -B with P&S endorsement, or ability to obtain said license and certification within six months.
Reports to: Director of Transportation
Job Goal: To coordinate, organize, schedule and bill all district extra-curricular trips, assist in providing responsible and professional radio monitoring, dispatch and phone communication.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Oversee field trip operations.
- Prepare and send out billing of field trips and leased vehicles for all campuses.
- Communicate clearly and concisely between the hub, schools, and the school bus drivers.
- Maintain various spreadsheets and/or databases related to transportation personnel.
- Anticipate work to be completed and initiate proper and acceptable direction for the completion of work with little to no supervision and instruction.
- Assist with data entry that enables routes and student transport for both the regular school year and summer programs.
- Answer multiline telecommunication system for the purpose of screening calls, transferring calls, responding to inquiries and/or taking messages.
- Perform other reasonable functions as requested by the supervisor.
- Serve as bus driver or bus aide, as needed.
Physical Demands:
- Going up and down the school bus steps rapidly (3 times within 30 seconds)
- Move rapidly through the interior of the bus (from seat belted position to rear exit within 20 seconds)
- Drag 125 pound objects (30 feet in 30 seconds)
Terms of Employment: S4 FMSD Salary Schedule, 240 contract days per year. Non-exempt. Salary placement based upon experience and education based on district formula.
Evaluation: Performance on this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the board’s policy on evaluation on non-certified personnel.
