POSITION TITLE: Technology Technician
FLSA: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Director of Technology
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: A full contract for this position is 240 days, with benefits as specified in employee contract. Contract will be prorated based on actual start date.
LOCATION: Rogers Center
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma.
Strong knowledge of computers and related technologies.
Strong knowledge of infrastructure requirements and components of local area networks.
Highly motivated with strong organizational skills.
Must have the ability to lift at least 30-35 lbs.
Ability to endure prolonged standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, occasional reaching above the head or the shoulders, bending, squatting, and kneeling.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Ensure the maintenance, monitoring performance, and installation upgrades to hardware and software.
Experience working in a professional technology setting.
Installation knowledge of projectors, smartboards, CATV and document cameras.
Ability to diagnose complex issues.
Highly motivated with strong organizational skills; ability to coordinate multiple tasks at one time.
Self-starter; able to work independently.
Skills are required to perform multiple tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.
Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: preparing and maintaining accurate records; planning and managing projects; and utilizing pertinent software applications.
Strong knowledge of storage backup methodologies and practices.
Ability to tackle problems, identify solutions and follow through to completion.
Detailed knowledge of networking technologies and components.
Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using standardized methods.
Ability to work with a wide diversity of individuals; work with a variety of data; and utilize specific, job-related equipment. Some problem solving may be required to identify issues and select action plans. Problem solving with data may require independent interpretation; and problem solving with equipment is limited.
Specific ability-based competencies is required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: maintaining confidentiality; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships; working with detailed information; adapting to changing priorities; and working with frequent interruptions.
OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain emotional control under stress.
Research and implement preventative maintenance procedures for district technology devices.
Work additional hours as directed.
Other duties as assigned by administration.
Maintain confidentiality.
Present and communicate in a professional manner.
Attend trainings as required.
