Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs custodial work and repairs in or near the airport terminal.
- Performs cleaning of all public and selected tenant facilities in the terminal including sweeping, vacuuming, scrubbing, striping, and waxing of floors and carpet extraction.
- Empties and cleans waste receptacles.
- Washes windows, walls, and ceilings.
- Dusts and polishes furniture and woodwork; polishes metal work.
- Cleans restrooms, toilets, urinals, and sinks.
- Replaces light bulbs.
- Snow removal on terminal sidewalks.
- Move office furniture and equipment.
- Reports needed repairs.
- Provides information to the public.
- Assists in maintaining an orderly supply inventory.
- Maintains equipment, tools, and storeroom in a clean and orderly condition.
- Maintains a surveillance of the terminal building against trespass, fire, or malfunction of mechanical equipment.
- Performs duties in accordance with the Airport Authority's safety rules and operating regulations and practices; reports irregularities and abnormal conditions to the supervisor,
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Abilities
- Knowledge of custodial procedures and policies particularly those pertaining to building services.
- Knowledge of the use of janitorial materials, machines, and tools.
- Ability to perform custodial and repair work and other manual labor.
- Ability to prepare basic reports on work performed and materials needed.
- Ability to direct the work of others.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, supervisors, co-workers, tenants and the general public,
