We’re glad you’re exploring our Senior Quality Engineer position and want to share some of the details.
First, we would be looking for you to have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field and equivalent demonstrated skills and abilities. 10 years’ experience in a Quality Engineering role, or equivalent, within a manufacturing environment is required.
Second, this position will be responsible for things like the application of customer and Fort Wayne Metals’ quality requirements including but not limited to updating procedures, work instructions, and forms, and interpreting applicable aspects of customer specifications. You will design and refine methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection, conduct analysis, design test equipment, and complete research to determine effectiveness of methods. The Senior Quality Manager will mentor, train, and direct Quality Technicians and/or Quality Engineers and other team members within direct supervisory vertical. You will provide learning sessions to Quality Engineers and Techs and/or other team members on quality tools. (i.e. Root Cause tools, Minitab, GR&R). Also, the Senior Quality Engineer will Investigate customer returns including root cause determination and corrective action implementation. This includes direct customer contact through conference calls and on-site visits.
