Our Lewisville, TX plant is looking for an experienced HP Digital Press Operator to support our 3rd shift! In this role you will operate an HP digital printing press. This includes press set-up and completion of quality checks to ensure your final printed product meets all regulatory and customer requirements. Qualified candidates must possess at least 3 years of prior experience operating HP digital presses for a similar printing or packaging company. A level 1 HP digital operator’s certificate is preferred, but not required.
Ideal candidates will possess high initiative and attention to detail, a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently. This position works Sunday evening through Thursday morning, from 10:00pm to 6:00am, and includes full benefits (Medical, dental, vision, short/long term disability, life insurance, 401k with match, profit sharing, holiday bonus, paid holidays, paid time off, sick pay, parental leave, tuition reimbursement and more!)
As a Digital Press Operator you will operate a digital printing press engaged in the production of printed products in a safe and efficient manner. This includes set-up of the press (inks, coatings, etc) as specified in the work ticket. In addition, you will complete quality checks to ensure that the printed product meets all functional requirements. In this position, you will also load substrates onto the press and record all required production data into the shop floor data collection system. As needed, you will be required to wash up press components and complete basic housekeeping and preventive maintenance tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs typical press operations to support production department.
- Review job ticket to ensure job is set up properly on the press per required specifications and job notes (ink, stock, etc.).
- Run the job per specifications and log when completed, noting material used, etc.
- While running the press, review printed rolls for quality and consistency related to all aspects of the labels including color densities and scaling.
- Following completion of the job, move finished roll to finishing department and complete line clearance procedure in preparation for the next job.
- Communicate with Shift Supervisor and/or Production Manager regarding any discrepancies with the job ticket and the job itself.
- Ensure proper data collection for each job, including job notes on material and time variance.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and preventative maintenance of the press.
- Maintain the work area and machines in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed company policies and safety regulations.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement activities and participate in training when offered or needed.
- Additional duties as required.
Qualifications
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- At least three years press or printing related production experience.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Good communication skills.
- Proficient in basic computer skills including typical production/manufacturing software and ERP systems as well as print/production computers.
- Must be proactive and detail oriented to catch problems or inconsistencies and bring them to managements attention.
- Good organization skills to manage multiple different labels each day.
- Knowledge of press operation and basic troubleshooting.
- Should be mechanically inclined to grasp the basics of press operation and maintenance.

Training Requirements:
- Willing to attend required training courses or sessions related to the job as assigned.
Physical Demands:
- Constant lifting, standing, crouching, walking, and associated repetitive tasks.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs occasionally and up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
- Pass a pre-employment drug test and subject to random drug screening.
Work Environment:
- Regular exposure to dust and noise in the production environment.
- Warehouse temperatures may be influenced by outside temperatures.
- Regular skin and clothing exposure to ink.
