DEPARTMENT:    Information Technology
REPORTS TO:        Manager of Information Technology    
SHIFT:            Days or as needed
WAGE STATUS:    Grade 4 - Salaried, Exempt, $36,500 - $54,600
CLASSIFICATION:    Compact, Gaming License Required

JOB SUMMARY:
The IT Specialist will provide technical assistance, support, and training to the administrative and front-line staff of Fortune Bay Resort Casino. The Specialist will also provide support and assistance in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer workstation hardware and software, information networks, and associated information systems and equipment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The IT Specialist works under the immediate and direct supervision of the Manager of Information Technology to provide an array of services and support to the workforce of Fortune Bay Resort Casino (FBRC) and Bois Forte Development Corporation (BFDC). The incumbent shall carry out the following duties and responsibilities in an efficient and productive manner to include, but not necessarily limited to:

  • Install and maintain all FBRC staff workstations, associated equipment, and software
  • Collaborate with IT staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
  • Conduct research on software and systems products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.Troubleshoot, repair, install, or setup AV Equipment as needed
  • Troubleshoot, repair, or replace faulty workstation hardware and associated equipment
  • Provide technical support and guidance for all FBRC employees on an as needed basis to improve application efficiency and system operation
  • Communicate with software and hardware vendors as needed
  • Design and perform server and security audits, system backup procedures and other recovery processes in accordance with the company’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
  • Integrate servers, including database, e-mail and backup servers and their associated software into enterprise systems.
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes and service records.
  • Coordinate and /or provide training to end users for all existing or new systems.
  • Ensure the network is up and available during scheduled operational hours and expeditiously resolve issues when network is not available.
  • Provide remote or on-site technical support after normal working hours as necessary.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all FBRC workstation hardware and software.
  • Assist other IT staff as needed with the daily operation of FBRC’s systems
  • Work with and provide technical support to all FBRC staff 

QUALIFICATIONS:
It is required that the IT Specialist have a two-year technical degree related to Information Technology or have a minimum of three years experience in providing technical support and assistance in a similar capacity. In addition, the following knowledge, skill and abilities are required:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Server 2012/16/19 environment including Active Directory and Exchange Administration
  • Experience installing and supporting end user application and operating systems including Microsoft Office products and Windows 10
  • Excellent hardware and software troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience with ethernet cable and fiber installation, troubleshooting and standards
  • Ability to maintain files, records, and reports.
  • Skilled in analytical problem solving and troubleshooting.
  • Effective interpersonal skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
The IT Specialist will work in a fast-paced environment where good overall physical and mental health is required. Driving, light lifting, and extensive computer use is required. This position is classified as a safety-sensitive position.
