Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Since responsibilities will vary depending on the associate’s skillset, you may perform some or all of these functions:
  • Operate all Machining Equipment throughout the property (CNC Notching Saws, Horizontal Drill Machines, Punches, Strut Equipment, CNC Mills and Lathes, Waterjet, Laser, and Break Press & Shear).
  • Perform all Prep (heads, sills, jambs, gaskets, hardware) functions for Fenestration Products.
  • Assemble standard and custom fenestration products, such as folding glass walls and sliding glass doors.
  • Fabricate structural products (operable skylights, complex free-standing structure with hips and valleys, large custom structures, etc.).
  • Accountable for all steps needed to successfully run Assembly and/or Fabrication jobs without supervision.
  • Support the Field Installation Team by traveling to customer jobsites to deliver products and/or perform final product installations.
  • Support Department Leads and Coordinators in training less experienced team members in assigned departments.
  • Oversee other team members that are assigned to assist you with large projects.
• Work with Product Specialists and Process Specialists to resolve project issues and determine root causes of those issues.
• Monitor quality control processes within your functional areas.
• Spearhead continuous improvement projects as assigned.
• Act as a member of the change management process for assigned product types.
• Participate in product mock-ups, as assigned.
• Support Associate product training, as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:  

• This role is for internal candidates (Solar Innovations Associates) only.
• 3 years of experience in Assembly, Fabrication, Installation, and/or Equipment Operation (mills, lathes, punches, saws, etc.); Associate must have an in-depth knowledge of Solar Innovations products, having the ability to support multiple departments.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50lbs on a frequent basis.
• Blueprint reading experience.
• Professional communication skills.
• Basic Computer Skills.
• High School Diploma or GED.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Internal candidates, with Solar Innovations Manufacturing Product experience, are ideal for this position
• 5 years of experience in Assembly, Fabrication, Installation, and/or Equipment Operation (mills, lathes, punches, saws, etc.)

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: USD - USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
