Director, Facilities, and Operations
Under the supervision of the Senior Director, of Facilities and Operations, the individual will supervise operations at all Fortune Societys locations. Individuals must be familiar with standard concepts and practices needed to manage service departments across multiple work sites and be able to accomplish organizational goals while performing a variety of complex tasks.
JOB TASKS:
- Coordinates through staff or outside contractors the preventive maintenance and / or repairs on building systems.
- Maintains necessary paper and computer files, records and reports to support all maintenance information and activities in an organized manner.
- Implement and maintain preventive maintenance programs, fire safety programs and master cleaning schedules.
- Ensures that facilities are kept up to applicable building and fire codes. Conducts regular building inspections of all Fortune locations.
- Ensures that all facilities are cleaned and maintained to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with sanitation regulations.
- Supervises the performance of a variety of custodial tasks and leads groups of interns and staff in custodial activities while ensuring that offices, bathrooms, and common areas are kept in clean and orderly condition.
- Will be responsible for ensuring that premises are operating at the optimum condition including working light fixtures, keys, copiers, door locks, and other items as needed.
- Will be called to supervise and sometimes perform general manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials.
- Will supervise the inspection, repairs, installation, modification, and routine maintenance of plumbing fixtures in heating, water and drainage systems. May be called to identify and troubleshoot electrical, plumbing and safety problems.
- Responsible for maintaining supply inventory for all sites.
- Manages spare parts and equipment inventory at all sites.
- Verifies that terms and conditions of contracts are satisfactorily met.
- Maintains records of ongoing work activities.
- Identify, facilitate, and implement space and equipment needs. May perform minor construction and oversees ongoing construction projects.
- Assist staff in conducting monthly fire drills and fire safety training to ensure staff and client knowledge of safety and evacuation protocol. Will keep required records as per code.
- Will be asked to create floor plans and modify them according to agency needs.
- Performs all work in compliance of all applicable City, State, and Federal Codes.
- Maintains all MSDS books.
- Monitors and maintains all logs, files, and drawings in compliance with all agency regulations.
- Performs all related duties as required.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Associates degree required. Bachelors degree preferred.
- 2 years technical school or minimum of 5 years supervisory industry experience preferred.
- Ability to read blue prints and maintain service logs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate both verbally and in written form.
- Experience working with HVAC systems, boilers, fire safety and other building systems.
- Experience with industrial cleaning chemicals and cleaning programs.
- Initiative, creativity and high energy level.
- Valid NYS Drivers License.
- Computer Literate preferred.
- Commitment to the work done by The Fortune Society.
Salary : $77,400 - $98,000
