The organization’s core purpose is to help sustain and grow the Catholic Elementary Schools in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, through strategic work with the Office of Catholic Education and building strategic relationships with individuals, organizations and foundations whose philanthropic interests are aligned with the Foundation for Catholic Education.
Overview
Reporting to the VP of Development, the Development Coordinator is responsible for supporting development efforts to secure EITC/OSTC scholarship funding and especially TuitionCare, an innovative program established by the Foundation that leverages the EITC program to provide a reduction in tuition for all school families. The Development Coordinator will cultivate and manage relationships with prospective donors, elementary school staff members and boards of limited jurisdiction.
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years fundraising, development, sales, marketing, and/or communication experience.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and relationship building competencies, and excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects or assignments simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to successfully communicate with principals, pastors, board members and business leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Fluency with database systems, Excel, Word and other standard Windows programs
- Knowledge of Social Media platforms: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter
- Ability to travel locally within the 5 Southeastern PA Counties and work some evenings
- Must have a passion for Catholic Education and an understanding of the dynamics of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia educational system
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborating with school communities to market and enroll families in the TuitionCare Program
- Cultivating donors to participate in the EITC Tax Credit Program.
- Market and educate the school community using social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and Webinars
- Educate schools, boards, principals, pastors, business leaders and parishioners about the EITC Tax Credit Program.
- Work closely with schools to help them strategize and build their fundraising efforts through the EITC program.
- Serve on Strategic Planning Assistance Teams (SPAT) for Elementary Schools that are facing challenges in finances, enrollment and fundraising.
